Now that Megan Bennett can travel after the COVID-19 restrictions, she is heading to Scotland and helping to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance by walking the West Highland Way in September. Over six days, she will be hiking 96 miles from just outside Glasgow to Fort William, carrying all her kit and tent. As a grand finale, she is intending to climb Ben Nevis, depending if her legs will allow!
Megan has set up a JustGiving page and has already surpassed her target, but says: “It would be great if you could make a donation big or small to help this great charity and keep that helicopter going in case God forbib we ever need them. With resources closing in on us in the Dales, I feel that this is a charity that needs our help.” https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/megan-bennett8
Tessa Klemz, North Yorkshire Community Fundraiser for the YAA, said: “We would like to thank Megan for her support and brilliant way of fundraising. Like many charities, fundraising has been hit hard by Covid and thanks to Megan’s enthusiasm and energy, we can continue to keep the two yellow helicopters flying across Yorkshire saving lives.”
