Harry Tanfield Tour of Yorkshire first ride raises £240 for YAA

A big thank you and well done to Harry Tanfield and the event organisers who raised £400 for YAA and Yorkshire Cancer Research from the first ride of the ‘Tanfield Tour of Yorkshire’.

Donations were shared between ourselves and Yorkshire Cancer Research, with YAA receiving £240.

Our North and East Yorkshire Fundraising Manager Lin Stead, said “We would like to thank Harry and the team for organising the Tanfield Tour of Yorkshire. As an independent charity, we rely heavily on fundraisers such as these to keep both aircraft airborne and saving lives across the region. We are incredibly grateful for the support.”

Northern Soul Day dances to the tune of £1,675

A big thank you to Mick Glover and his team for arranging a Northern Soul Day in aid of us at the Birdwell Venue in Barnsley, which raised an incredible £1,675. This takes their total to date to over £4,000.

Laura Lawton, South Yorkshire Community Fundraiser for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: “We would like to thank Mick and his team for their continuous support and generosity. The money raised will help greatly towards the vital funding of our service.”

 

HGF Ltd’s Three Peak Challenge £2,075 success!

A big thank you to HGF Ltd employees who took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in September and raised an incredible £2,075. Members took the challenge very seriously with some joining gyms to help prepare for the day and one lady even lost a toenail following the challenge.

Biffa’s Health and Safety charity scheme £1.2k YAA donation

A big thank you to Biffa Waste Services, Leeds who have chosen to donate to Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) through their Health and Safety charity scheme.

Helen Berriman, West Yorkshire Regional Fundraiser for YAA, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Biffa for their very generous donation of £1,256.11 through their health and safety charity scheme. The money raised will help greatly towards the vital funding of our service and enables us to keep our helicopters airborne and save lives across the region.”

Seven year old’s 10 mile Ripon walk for YAA

Seven year old Jeffrey Higginson joined in with Hayley Anderson’s Fitness Month of May in Ripon and raised over £670 of Hayley’s £4,800 total.  Tessa Klemz, Regional Fundraiser, accepted the donation from Jeffrey, his mother Sonya and Ash who was going to carry Jeffrey the last few miles if he didn’t think he could manage it solo.  Well done Jeffrey you’re a superstar fundraiser.  Hayley is a fitness instructor and organised an enormous raffle, a group walk around Ripon plus a 3-hour exercise-a-thon session.  A huge thank you to everyone who took part and raised such an amazing amount.

NFU Mutual’s generous £6k donation

A big thank you to the Skipton office of NFU Mutual who generously donated £6,379 to us from their national agency giving fund. Employees from their 295 offices across the country were able to nominate a local worthy cause and the Skipton branch kindly chose Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Tessa Klemz, North Yorkshire regional fundraiser for YAA said: “We’re incredibly thankful to the Skipton agency of NFU Mutual for nominating our charity. Yorkshire Air Ambulance provides rapid life-saving emergency response to five million people across four million acres of Yorkshire, and we rely on the generosity of the public to keep us in the skies and save lives. Particularly in areas such as rural North Yorkshire where our service is vital to the farming communities that we serve.”

Tesco Express Wombwell £700 raffle milestone

A big thank you to Tesco Express in Wombwell and all their customers for raising a further £300 from raffle tickets, bringing their total this year to date to an impressive £700.

Laura Lawton, YAA South Yorkshire Regional Fundraiser, said: “Businesses large and small play a critical part in helping us raise the £12,000 a day it costs to keep our helicopters airborne and saving lives across the region. We are always grateful for the support, not only in raising the funds, but also spreading the important message about our service in local communities.”

Generous auction prize donation for upcoming dinner

A huge thank you to the generous Rik Stoney who has donated a child’s trial motorbike to help us raise funds at an upcoming dinner.

Auction prizes are a great way for us to raise the £12,000 a day it costs to keep our helicopters airborne and saving lives across the region. We’re sure the bike will be highly sought after.”

The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes continued support brings in further £3k

A big thank you to the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloe (RAOB) who chose to support us at the start of 2020, but due to the pandemic continued their support for a further two years. Mark Arkley from the RAOB presented our West Yorkshire Regional Fundraiser Helen Berriman with a generous cheque for £3,328 raised from various collections and events.

There are future plans to hold further events this year including a BBQ, which we are looking forward to supporting to.

Helen said: “We would like to thank the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloe for their continued support and generosity. The £3,328 raised will help greatly towards our vital funding and jeeping both of Yorkshire’s air ambulances maintained and in the air.”

10 year old Chloe’s bracelet stall raises £150 for YAA!

A big thank you to Chloe Lockwood (10) and her friends from Barnsley who set up a stall selling handmade bracelets on her drive this week. They raised an incredible £150!

Dearne Valley Walking Group’s generous £300 donation

A big thank you to the Dearne Valley Walking Group and all their members who raised £300 for us through group funds.

Travelers Insurance Company 14 mile walk for YAA

A big thank you to Sally from Travelers Insurance Company and her fellow colleagues and corporate contacts who arranged a sponsored 14-mile walk in aid of YAA.
