Lou & Joe’s Burger Co. donate a further £4,351 to YAA

A huge thank you to Lou & Joe’s Burger Co. for their recent donation of £4351. This donation takes the total raised to date, to an amazing £8209! The money has been raised through the sales of their Scotty 2 Hotty burger, with £1 being donated for each burger ordered. Louie and Scott pictured also completed the Yorkshire Marathon raising £996 in sponsorship. Thank you so much for your continued support.

Schroders Personal Wealth raise £5130.50 walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks

A big thank you to Schroders Personal Wealth for completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks and raising an incredible £5130.50. The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a tough challenge but it was made even more difficult as they were tackling it on the hottest day of the year in July. Thank you so much for your support.

Waitrose Harrogate ‘Give a Little Love’ to YAA with £700 donation

A huge thank you to Waitrose in Harrogate who chose Yorkshire Air Ambulance as their charity of the month for their ‘Give a Little Love’ campaign in October, which raised £700.

Clare Deacon, North Yorkshire Community Fundraiser for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: “We would like to thank Waitrose Harrogate for their continued support and generosity and for choosing us as one of their recent ‘Give a Little Love’ beneficiaries.

It costs £12,000 a day to keep both of Yorkshire’s air ambulances maintained and in the air and support from local businesses and communities is the life-blood of our charity.

Manchester Marathon runners raise £1,438 for YAA

We would like to say a huge thank you to David, Damon, Ryan, James & Chris who ran the Manchester Marathon this year and two years ago to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  Unfortunately, the YAA was needed after two of their friends were involved in a road traffic collision in Doncaster.  Sadly one of their friends Aidy did not survive.  Through their fundraising, they have raised £1438 and counting!

Greyhound Inn raise more than £1,500 for YAA with help of two exceptional young waiters

Fifteen-year-old waiters Joe and Harry took over the kitchen at The Greyhound Inn in Hackforth near Bedale in North Yorkshire and wowed the diners with their set 3-course meal.  Everyone was very impressed with their cooking skills and they helped to raise over £250 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  The fundraisers of the future!

The Greyhound Inn also organised a Harvest Auction in the pub which raised £1355.60 selling local produce.  Yorkshire Air Ambulance are so grateful to Steve and the small Hackforth community for their continued and very valuable fundraising that over the years that is now a phenomenal £5811.57.

Tea Cosy Memory Cafe’s generous £500 YAA donation

A big thank you to Peter and Liz Smith who ran the Tea Cosy Memory Café in Rothwell for their donation of £500. Peter and Liz have been running the Tea Cosy Memory café for 10 years and when they decided to step down unfortunately no one came forward to carry on the café. Peter and Liz have been donating the money from the Tea Cosy account to local charities, and we are delighted that they chose to donate £500 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Great North Runner raises a fantastic £1550 for YAA

A huge thank you to Geoff for taking on such a mammoth challenge running the Great North Run in support of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  Through sponsorship and a raffle at his village quiz, Geoff has raised a phenomenal £1550 which will help save lives across Yorkshire.  He has come into close contact with the life-saving charity when his wife went into anaphylactic shock after a bee sting last summer and the team also saved the life of a friend after an accident in the Dales.

Morgan Sports Car Club raises £103 for YAA

The Yorkshire Centre of the Morgan Sports Car Club held a drive out for us in August and raised a fantastic £103 for YAA. The route covered an 80-mile anti-clockwise circuit around North Yorkshire and the Cumbrian border.

Tee-rific amount raised at golf day organised by 22 The Square, Northowram

A big thank you to 22 The Square, the Italian restaurant in Northowram who have raised an amazing £2,000 from their annual golf day split equally between Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Calderdale Lighthouse. YAA volunteer Robin Owen Morley, along with the founders of the Calderdale Lighthouse charity collected the cheque from owner Raj Panesar and participants in the golf day.

 

 

Rare bird helps to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Thank you to the Makin family for raising an incredible £1,970 by allowing birdwatchers to access their land to see a rare Green Warbler bird that was discovered on farmland at Buckton near Bridlington in return for a donation to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Birdwatchers flocked to see the rare sight and take photos and the money was raised by a GoFundMe campaign.

Rob Scott, East Yorkshire Regional Fundraiser, said:” We would like to thank the landowner for organising this fundraiser and for raising an incredible £1,970 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The money raised will help greatly towards the vital funding of our service.”

Golcar Guides donate £90 from virtual camp weekend

Thank you very much to Golcar Guides who have donated £90 from fundraising for ourselves in their virtual camp weekend over the school holidays. We are very grateful for your support and were extremely impressed with the creativity of the work created!

Roundhegians Rugby Club memorial match raises £1,053 for YAA

We would like to say a thank you to all the family, staff and supporters at Roundhegians Rugby Club.  Recently, we were informed that life-long member and volunteer of the club Ian Roberts, 64 had sadly passed away.  We attended Ian’s incident and his widow Gill asked if the club could raise some money for ourselves.  Sadly in the same week Club President Pete Maila also passed away and the club decided to host a memorial match in their memory.  Amazingly the club raised £1053.13 on the day and we met Gill Roberts (Ian’s Widow)and Jim Malia (Pete’s eldest son) recently to gratefully receive their donation. At Ian’s funeral we also received a donation of £702.00 which we are very grateful for.
