Tour De AKY

The 6th charity bike ride in memory of North Yorkshire Police Dog handler Mick ‘AKY’ Atkinson (PC1066).
The 6th Tour De AKY takes place on Saturday 13th July 2024 and it is set to be the biggest yet, with over 100 riders taking part.
This is a charity bike ride in memory of Mick ‘AKY’ Atkinson, a North Yorkshire Police Dog handler (PC1066) who sadly took his own life in 2018. The ride is 106.6 miles long starting from Woodlesford in Leeds, taking in locations that have meaning towards AKY.
The ride is a none competitive event in which cyclist of varied abilities take part, raising money for MIND, YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE & ANDY’S MAN CLUB, also aiming to raise awareness of mental health.
There are regular stops and refreshments along the route. Riders are split into 2 groups, the social riders and the ‘fast’ riders, and each group has a support van designated to it. All riders will be fed and watered during the ride but are encouraged to bring supplies. There will also be a cycle technician for any running repairs that may be required.

Time: Starts at 7 am for the social riders and 9 am for the ‘fast’ riders
