“In 2018, just moments before kickoff at a Barnsley FC game where I was pitch-side, I experienced a serious cardiac arrest. The situation seemed dire, but thanks to the quick response of Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s critical care team and the collaboration of medics from each club, I received the lifesaving care I needed.
It’s surreal to think that the helicopter landed right in the middle of the pitch in front of thousands of spectators to rush me to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital, where a specialist cardiac team were waiting for me. Thanks to the YAA’s swift actions and expert pre-hospital care, I have since made a full recovery.
From that moment on, I have felt a need to give back to the charity that played such a pivotal role in saving my life. Therefore, I am thrilled to be part of YAA’s Always Ready Raffle and I’d love for you to support this very special charity by taking part.
